Global contacts lead Awoque to a mission to aid with the The Unesco Mobile Learning Week. The conference ”aims to explore mobile learning as a unique and significant contribution to achieving the Education for All (EFA) goals of increasing education access, quality and equality.”

More than 280 000 twitter accounts reached with #mlw2013. A pleased Unesco Programme Specialist in Mobile Learning, Steve Vosloo says:
- I really want to thank you for all your help throughout the Symposium. The social media was very active and well managed – we have had lots of compliments.

Here you can view some of the action in a photo album we provided at the Unesco ICT Facebook>>

Kungsbacka showed its best face ever on Saturday for the premiere of Kungsbacka365 – a project for a more active city and a triathlon for all. Awoque proudly sponsors this social good event where citizens come together and enjoy the town we live in.

I had the privilege to inspire on the topic “Finding business online” in Dalsland at the Event arranged by Innovatum. Erik Nissen Johansen from Stylt Trampoli also gave a lecture on Storytelling. The two subjects connect because it is all about your “WHY”. When telling the story of your brand, your product, yourself, your staff etc, tell it straight. Be personal, stay honest and give the reader a good story.

Most of the people I meet think social media is a trick or really hard to learn. My usual answer is – you all ready know how to do it successfully. If you act online as you would with your best friends and as you would in your greatest client relationships you are on your way. The technique – to post, show photos, upload videos, create buzz etc- you might need help with. Ask your fans, followers and in forums and you will get feedback. Do not hesitate to ask professionals for help as well. Social Media is the best honest marketing, PR tool out there.

Here are a few of the videos I mentioned in my talk:

Charity Water – on how to tell the story passionately:

The Marmite Social Media Case

Awoque believes that passion and courage is at the heart of all successful social media initiatives. We like to look at the bigger picture, helping organizations to develop and transform their business through sustainable social networking. This is what a common process looks like:
- a couple of meetings with the management to get to know the company, values and goals. We look for the story to tell
- a workshop with as many of the staff as possible
- Awoque scans the online market to get a current view on the brand, its fans and the work field
- our client gets an report and a suggestion on a starting strategy and suggestions of activities

After many successful business cases, we encourage our clients to spend sufficient time on understanding and educating themselves about the various aspects of social media. It is an earned media.  It takes a personal engagement from as many of the staff as possible to increase the chances of becoming a social organization and reaching set business goals.

A great book to read is the “The Thank You Economy” by Gary Vaynerchuk.

Yes, you can come to the conference and focus on keynotes and panels. Fill you calender tight with pre-booked events. But then you might miss the true magic. When you just end up having an inspiring conversation with people who blow your mind, ask intriguing questions and getting your ideas challenged. Today I had lunch with a group of creative people and one hour later, we spread our passionate stories and dream projects. We now have a group on Facebook called Overlap where we can continue the conversation.

Be inspired, like I was by Marcus Goodyear´s post on on 1000 Years of History at SXSW – a poetry response to a noisy place

Do this in life. Try it. Just sit down next to someone. Ask them a question. Magic could happen. Social media enables and lets you connect and stay connected. Enjoy!

This is the day, I send my biggest #High5 to all the women around the world. You rock. Especially my mentor Ulla-Lisa Thordén, an EU ambassadeur for female entrepreurship as well as for the Hunger Project. Today I join in with her and many around the world to raise awareness for this fantastic social good cause. Follow them on Twitter @hungerproject

“The Hunger Project firmly believes that it is absolutely essential to cause a society-wide change towards gender equality in order to end hunger and poverty.”

I will go looking for talented women, inspiration for social good causes and great new initiatives here in Austin, Texas and the South by Southwest. Follow me on Twitter @awoque @victoriaahlen. The delegation for the Chamber of Commerce in Göteborg tweet as well under the #westswesxsw. I will also do live broadcasts on Bambuser. Stay tuned ;)

We feel passionately about food. We like eggs. Why not help inspire more people to create an omelet, cook food?

Learn how to make an omelet and join our group for passionate food creators at Folkmästerskapen i Omelett. Last year´s winner Jeanna Kanold, chocolate entrepreneur at Flickorna Kanold, shares her winning recipe from 2011 with white chocolate and strawberrys.

When we founded in August 2010, we wanted to use our talents to communicate online within social media to do social good. During 2011 we aided:

- the street magazine Faktum in their efforts to increase awareness of the homeless people in Göteborg
- socialized, told and spread hundreds of micro stories about organ transplantation/taking a stand for organ donation for World Transplant Games
- we started our own project Awoque Juniors to get youth work through their social media talents
- we followed and cheered Fredrik Toreskog´s efforts in raising 100 000 SEK for a children´s hospital
- Björn Kåberger gives many hours a week to his organization CISV

I want Awoque do more social good in 2012.

Today, I continue a tradition I started last year to give to someone else on my birthday. I had the privilege to meet a great new friend during my vacation in Sri Lanka. I want to give him and his family a increased chance of a better life by supporting his efforts to get a taxi driver´s license. I will tell you more as the project continues.

Can we be an asset to you in a social good project? Maybe your company has set CSR goals and/or support great projects around the globe that you wish to further develop? We could be a great partner. Please get in touch.

How are you? Kind of missed you during almost 4 weeks of offline mode.

Welcome to a brand new year with Awoque. This year we will aim to work harder and inspire you every step of the way to use social media to increase motivation, sales and honesty. Lots of #High5:s in store of course. As white as the snow falling outside my office window as clean is my mind. I charged my batteries with a fantastic vacation in gorgeous Sri Lanka. I will share some of my ideas from the trip later on during the week.

In March, I am off to South by Southwest to get inspiration, find new trends and interview people. Of course, I will share many stories with you here on the blog. If you have a specific question you would like to have answered or a new technique you want to find out more about. Get in touch and I might be able to help you. If you live in Sweden and want to travel to SXSW with Handelskammaren read this blog post>>

Proliv exists to support men and their families who have received the diagnosis prostate cancer. As may organizations, they struggle to communicate with their members, to increase general awareness and to keep a positive outlook on the volunteer-based work load. Utilizing social media can be a way to increase positive attitudes and using each volunteer hour more effectively, if the necessary time is spent on setting a social strategy.

I firmly believe that it is the “media” within social media that stops many to explore the possibilities with online tools and channels. I always start my inspirational workshops by moving the “media” out of focus and concentrating on the “Why”, the basics of a great dialogue and sales strategy. My three basic tips:

  1. Stay true to you passion for the cause
  2. Tell stories to strengthen to show good examples
  3. Focus on the dialogue and asking questions
