This is a fun, busy social media week

On Monday, we celebrated Paul´s birthday with Awoque and also had an office farewell party. We will move offices after the summer closer to Göteborg downtown. If you would like to have us closer to you, get in touch.
Later on in the afternoon, Maria and I planned for all the activities during World Transplant Games with the rest of the crew.

In March this year Awoque sponsored and attended the first Webcoast event at Lindholmen science park, Gothenburg, Sweden. The event was a huge success on all levels but for one person in particular it meant a little bit more.

Thina Grotmark, won the “Rise & Shine” prize from Awoque, an award to celebrate individuals and organizations using social media for social good.  Thina, edits an impressive blog for plus size people called Beyond-Sizes. Her passion for her blog has attracted thousands of followers and her weekly readership regularly tops over a 1000.

One of Thina’s main blog topics is fashion and she has longed dreamed of attending the “Full Figure Fashion Week” (FFFWeek) in New York, USA. So in June this year we are sending Thina to NYC to make her dream come true.

We are very excited for Thina, who will be blogging and reporting from the front lines of FFFweek. Thina, best of luck and have fun!

It is our pleasure to welcome Thina Grotmark to the team, she joins us as a creative project manager at Awoque.

Thina has a bachelor degree in media and communication and another in behavioral science, from Gothenburg University. She interned at Cordovan Communication AB working with clients Falbygdens Ost , Kvillebäcken and Ridderheims. Recently Thina was responsible for PR and marketing for WebCoast.

Thina, is also well know for her blog – Beyond Sizes, about fashion and being confident in your own skin, whatever size you are. Her blog achieves over a 1000 unique readers a day

At WebCoast last week, Awoque launched our social good campaign to highlight young people, contributing to society and making a difference through social media.

As experts in social networking, we understand the power of this medium to evoke people to become involved in a good cause. One great example of this kind of passion is “Charity Water” there are countless others too and we are proud of you guys.

Whilst at WebCoast we decided to find a company/individual or group that was doing something about a cause they are passionate about. We found that person in Thina Grotmark, who drives a blog Beyond Sizes, which is dedicated to supporting and uplifting people who are of a lager size. As her blog says, “Love the skin you are in”. Thina, speaks openly about issues, fashion, food, heath, etc, and emphasizes acceptance to help promote better self-esteem amongst her audience. Thina, is on the right track, as her readership has risen to over a 1000 unique users/per day and in her home country of Sweden that isn’t half bad!
