- Participating in many great events: The Event, Folkmästerskapen i Omelett, Venture Cup, Avalon Outside

- A big applaude to “Sommarlovsentreprenörerna” in Kungsbacka, and my team members this spring Johanna Olsson, Olivia Widén and Bill Selander. Thanks also to my former chairwoman Deborah Lygonis. You guys rock!

After a well-needed energy boost at midsummer with my family, I will be off hiking in a non-cellular, non-wifi zone in a few days. I might tweet every once in a while so keep up at @victoriaahlen. This blog rests.

When Awoque restarts in August, I will introduce news and new beginnings. Stay tuned for that. Have a #high5 summer and wear out that sun chair.

Congratulations to Venture Cup winners in the 2012 competition.

Awoque´s got the mission to create digital exposure for the winners, the competition and entrepreneurship during the Swedish finals. Many companies support events in various forms and place their roll-ups and broschures in the event arena. Traditionally companies support events and show their brands with, roll-ups, banners and broschures in the event arena. Our ambition was to create exposure in the digital meeting arena as well surrounding #VentureCup. We moderated the conversation and crreated content online for fans to follow through Twitter, Bambuser, YouTube and aided the guest bloggers.

With Matter, we produced a live talk show only minutes after the prize ceremony was over broadcasted via Bambuser. Guest in the program was winners Speximo, chairwoman of the jury Deborah Lygonis (Constant Innovation), Robert Odenjung (Västsvenska Handelskammaren), artist Emil Jensen, risk capitalist Susanna Falkengren, and Christina Jaremo who will be in the Regional Manager for Venture Cup West.

And the broadcasts reached our Enterprise Minister in Sweden, Annie Lööf on Twitter:

High5 to Olivia Widén for the professional attitude all day and to the staff at Gothia Towers for helping us set up the mini-studio quickly.

Yesterday, I shared a great conversation on employer branding with people in charge of various organisations. Yet again, I see the ripple effects and how social media connects or splits people. As always, I would like to start by focusing on the positive possibilities for a brand to grow, to become more social.

- Internal tools such as Yammer and Jive get the conversations going, utilize the energy and knowledge within a group, connects people to a brand / employer.

- Writing a blog as a CEO instead of a formated weekly newsletter might increase the comments and interaction with co-workers. And the same blog could also be used to share the personalized corporate daily story to both customers and future employees.

- The things we say and claim we will do must be true. They should of course be tied to the company core values. It is easily checked if a line is said for the sole purpose of marketing. The more personality we mix in the message the better.

- Taking the time to really listen, asking questions and sharing information builds trust.

I will share two videos for inspiration.

1) To get your thoughts going on how you communicate and relate from Kate Hartman:

2) My all time favorite Simon Sinek on “How great leaders aim to inspire”

If you are looking for organizations to support to increase your social good account, here are two great examples of passionate involved foundations. They share the same name and do enormous amounts of social good for children.

In the US, the foundation Playing for change is dedicated to the fundamental idea that peace and change are possible through the universal language of music. They most effectively use videos posted on Vimeo and their blog to spread awareness. How can you not smile and want to get involved?

Help Connect the World Through Music from Doug Kenney on Vimeo.

playingforchange_sweIn Sweden, Playing for Change is a business incubator and network for social entrepreneurs that supports social entrepreneurs who improve the lives of children and youth. They actively use social media to spread awareness both on – YouTube, Facebook and through Twitter.

How are you? Kind of missed you during almost 4 weeks of offline mode.

Welcome to a brand new year with Awoque. This year we will aim to work harder and inspire you every step of the way to use social media to increase motivation, sales and honesty. Lots of #High5:s in store of course. As white as the snow falling outside my office window as clean is my mind. I charged my batteries with a fantastic vacation in gorgeous Sri Lanka. I will share some of my ideas from the trip later on during the week.

In March, I am off to South by Southwest to get inspiration, find new trends and interview people. Of course, I will share many stories with you here on the blog. If you have a specific question you would like to have answered or a new technique you want to find out more about. Get in touch and I might be able to help you. If you live in Sweden and want to travel to SXSW with Handelskammaren read this blog post>>

To all of of you fantastic #High5 people who read this:
- ONLINE – Sharing comments, retweets, pushing a like button, asking a question etc in channels such as  Facebook, Linked In, Twitter and other places, we feel connected with you even if you are far, far away.
- FANS – who encourage and send virtual and real hugs when needed the most and spread the #High5:s
- CLIENTS – who trust us and engage with us on a continual basis.
- PEOPLE – we meet in real life at events, meetings and networks. You rock our world and make it happen.
- FOLLOWERS – we look forward to more interaction with you in 2012.

2012 will be a honest, straight forward year with many #High5 projects to manage and enable. We look forward to it.

For all the joy we have experienced this past year, I (+every co-worker that have been apart of the Awoque-team in Göteborg) want to say thank you and lots of big hugs.

Have a fabulous end of 2011. We will take a pause here on the blog and see you again on January 9 2012!

MERRY CHRISTMAS  & A HAPPY NEW YEAR ;) !

Twingly insightYesterday Twingly, a blog trackback service, launched its own Analysis feature. According to Anton Johansson, Product Strategist at Twingly, the service is targeted at PR agencies helping their clients keeping an eye on the blogosphere. So what is Twingly Insight?

Twingly Insight is not going to be a Monitoring tool like Meltwater Buzz. Instead it will give the user access to the huge database (500,000 new entries per day, according to Twingly.com) of blog posts that Twingly has gathered, and search it for the keywords you are interested in. One thing Twingly Insight provides that most other services don’t is a wide array of meta data, mainly concerning stats like trackbacks (“blogs about this blog post”), a “blog score”, etc, helping the user in finding the key influencers.

Not having used Twingly Insight (yet!), I can not give you a rundown on how it actually works, but through Twingly’s website you will find a demo version and an example on how it’s supposed to be used. It sure looks promising though, and considering how many cool partners they already have, I look forward to see what the guys are up to next!

Here are some other news on the subject:

Awoque’s New Social Presence

Awoque’s New Social Presence

It is with great pleasure that we present Awoque’s new social site.

In the spirit of being social, we have discussed, posted and engaged with peers, partners and clients to get their valuable input into developing our new online presence. Today, we are extremely proud to present our new social site.  A space that accurately reflects our mission, personality and passion for working with social networking/media.

Awoque’s three strategic objectives: to enlighten, develop and transform business through social media have also been essential in the new strategy for our web and digital channels. In parallel with the web process, we have developed a richer graphical profile. One that consists of key graphic elements that communicate our visual identity.

Finally, our special thanks goes to the Raket Reklambyrå team for designing and developing the social site.

Our best,
The Awoque Team

Friday Fun FashionDAYS

We had a really good time awoqueing FashionDAYS at the Auto7H arena in Borås this week.

Fashion shows, the release of the new BMW 1-series, mingling, champagne, lots of work and High 5′s.

It really is a blessing to be able to combine my interest in fashion and design with my social media work at Awoque. Apart from our task to capture the spirit of the event and socialize it for our client. It was interesting to work with a multi-oriented audience that enjoyed the fact that FashionDAYS mixed fashion with cars, as well as other designs. FashionDays is much more than a garment event, it was a creative experience.

On Thursdays, I will give you a review, a tip or just my thoughts on research and analysis, which is my main responsibility working at Awoque. If you have any questions about how it works, and why you should always keep track on your presence online, feel free to contact me!

Meltwater Buzz is one of the most powerful tools out there today, allowing you to search for keywords and/or hashtags in pretty much any media. Micro blogs (Twitter), regular blogs, videos, photos, it’s all covered! Setting up a campaign (a set of keywords) takes about five minutes, and feels like searching on Google, only more… powerful.

In the “Overview” tab, you will see the latest tweets, blog posts, pictures etc that follows your search criteria on the right hand side. To the left, you get stats and graphs, all customizable to your hearts delight.

Reporting your stats is obviously a key feature of any monitoring service. MBuzz does this through a simple-to-use report wizard. You choose what campaign you want a report on, decide which stats you want to show and, with the help of check-boxes, what kind of charts and graphs you want.

A downside to this tool is that it is sometimes too powerful, especially if you are only running a local campaign. You might get data that you don’t care about, for example from other countries (MBuzz actually translates content as well!). Luckily you can limit the search to only include certain countries and languages. Another downside is the price, which for a startup or small company might be too high. But as I mentioned earlier: this is a powerful service, created for big brands to keep track of everything that happens.

Have you used Meltwater Buzz? What do you think about it? Tell me in the comments, or on our Facebook page!
