The 19^th of May is the world premiere of the official song for World Transplant Games 2011. The song Captain of the Ship is written and performed by Magnus Rosén, former member of the metal band Hammerfall.

This year Göteborg is hosting the event World Transplant Games, an international sport event for organ transplants, that will take place the 17 to 24 June 2011 with over 1000 athletes from 54 countries. Magnus Rosén and the opera singer Carolina Sandgren will perform the official song during the opening ceremony at Lisebergshallen in Göteborg June 18.

- This is the first time that I have created both the music and the lyrics which is really great”, says Magnus Rosén.

World Transplant Games is a contest where all participants are winners, after a long battle against life-threatening illnesses. The athletes have all been saved by different transplants. Without donors, none of these transplants would have been possible.
World Transplant Games 2011 royal patron is Prince Daniel, himself is a kidney recipient and will visit on June 18th.

Hello all Awoques fans,

My name is Maria Gustafsson. I work at Awoque with and for social good at World Transplant Games (WTG) – and what a fantastic mission it is! WTG is being held one whole week in June, with athletic competitions in Göteborg, where the common thing between the competitors is that they still have their health due to organ donation.

Royal news released last week when it became official that Prince Daniel is the royal patron of the event. This is an important matter to Prince Daniel, since he has undergone a kidney transplant.

This morning while enjoying the spring sun and discovering the first flowers of the year, I thought about how amazing it is that the athletes will come to Sweden to participate. They will arrive from more than fifty countries to meet, compete and spread their gratitude over actually being able to run, swim or play petangue (the international name for boule).

Every sporting event worth its name has dedicated volunteers and of course their own mascot. WTG even has two – a couple of happy mooses which will appear on different places in Göteborg during the spring.

The moose mascots still don’t have names – what do you think they should be called? Feel free to give proposals in the comments!

Vad är du ett fan av? Svårt att svara? Börja då med att tala om vilka artister du gillar och vika sporter du följer. Musik och idrott är två kategorier/branscher där det finns många hängivna fans. Fans som följer dig i vått och torrt. Ser till att heja på dig även när du ligger nära nedflyttningsstrecket eller nästan åkte ut i Idol. Tänk dig fansen enorma positiva kraft. Om du som jag varit på ett derby mellan t ex IFK Göteborg och ÖIS i fotboll vet du hur klackarna verkligen kan lyfta sitt lag till att göra ursnyggt mål i vänsterkrysset i slutminuten.

Själv är jag ett fan av Daniel Lemma och Slussens Pensionat. Snacka om att sätta sin fans/publik i rätt stämning när den vedeldade bastun och havsdopp bjuder in till gott försnack med andra likasinnade. Att sedan servera en delikat skaldjurstallrik i en urmysig lokal med vackra turkosa bordsdukar gör ju det hela ännu bättre. Grabbarna som spelar med Daniel är väl samspelta och bjuder på ett rejält gung. Morgonen därpå avslutas vår vistelse med en  frukost som får full pott och vi avnjuter den vid ett mycket speciellt sillbord från tidigt 1920-tal.

Så ta hand om dina fans. Bjud in dem till events. Rå om dem, be att få feedback, lyssna, leverera och så ska du se att de kommer igen och igen. Det var säkert 10:e gången jag såg Daniel Lemma och 3:e gången vi var på Slussen. Hur många tror du jag har berättat det för?
