This is the day, I send my biggest #High5 to all the women around the world. You rock. Especially my mentor Ulla-Lisa Thordén, an EU ambassadeur for female entrepreurship as well as for the Hunger Project. Today I join in with her and many around the world to raise awareness for this fantastic social good cause. Follow them on Twitter @hungerproject

“The Hunger Project firmly believes that it is absolutely essential to cause a society-wide change towards gender equality in order to end hunger and poverty.”

I will go looking for talented women, inspiration for social good causes and great new initiatives here in Austin, Texas and the South by Southwest. Follow me on Twitter @awoque @victoriaahlen. The delegation for the Chamber of Commerce in Göteborg tweet as well under the #westswesxsw. I will also do live broadcasts on Bambuser. Stay tuned ;)

When we founded in August 2010, we wanted to use our talents to communicate online within social media to do social good. During 2011 we aided:

- the street magazine Faktum in their efforts to increase awareness of the homeless people in Göteborg
- socialized, told and spread hundreds of micro stories about organ transplantation/taking a stand for organ donation for World Transplant Games
- we started our own project Awoque Juniors to get youth work through their social media talents
- we followed and cheered Fredrik Toreskog´s efforts in raising 100 000 SEK for a children´s hospital
- Björn Kåberger gives many hours a week to his organization CISV

I want Awoque do more social good in 2012.

Today, I continue a tradition I started last year to give to someone else on my birthday. I had the privilege to meet a great new friend during my vacation in Sri Lanka. I want to give him and his family a increased chance of a better life by supporting his efforts to get a taxi driver´s license. I will tell you more as the project continues.

Can we be an asset to you in a social good project? Maybe your company has set CSR goals and/or support great projects around the globe that you wish to further develop? We could be a great partner. Please get in touch.

Welcoming your clients

fresh baked bread as a symbol for passion at AwoqueTonight I am preparing for a morning session, workshop on “Why” for our online/social media project with Swerea. Not only, by researching and selecting great inspirational videos from YouTube but showing them a piece of me. We will discuss the powers of passion and how to create a lasting reason to keep the project going and increase interest from others than our group. I thought, I would trigger the morning dialogue with a taste of my evening and weekend hobby- baking bread.

For us at Awoque, we want our clients to feel like home, relax and and enjoy the adventure we initiated together. I look forward to our discussions, new insights and the result of course that we can show you here on our blog as well as the clients.

How do you work to welcome your clients?

2011 we hope to help our clients to build their brands through social media AND also do social good. Over the Christmas holidays, we got inspired by the many charity events taking place around the globe. We wanted to push our thoughts on passion even further. Paul did some research and found these two great examples on companies:

- Pepsi with the Refresh project. Anyone can submit an idea that has a positive impact they want sponsored. Each month the fans around the globe vote for their favourite.

- Dove´s campaign for real beauty. This is global campaign to strengthen the selm-esteem amongst women through workshops.

Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday and decided to challenge all my friends to give to charity on their birthdays. What got me the ideas was Charity water as you see in the video below.

What do you want to do? Get in touch!

Clas Mellby project manager at Swerea IVF ABA new year and time to get started again after a peaceful vacation during the holidays. We hope you had a good start to the new year.

We will begin our week by introducing our various client projects. The first one is Swerea IVF AB. Together with project and research manager Clas Mellby, we will explore the hypothesis that social media increases innovation in integrated product and production development. Mellby wants to “try an approach for mercenary companies to initiate a product portfolio. The experience of the project will form the platform for future major research projects.”

The VINNOVA sponsored project will take place 2011 in the Goteborg area. We promise to keep you posted and give you the link to the project blog that we plan at the moment.
