Congratulations to Venture Cup winners in the 2012 competition.

Awoque´s got the mission to create digital exposure for the winners, the competition and entrepreneurship during the Swedish finals. Many companies support events in various forms and place their roll-ups and broschures in the event arena. Traditionally companies support events and show their brands with, roll-ups, banners and broschures in the event arena. Our ambition was to create exposure in the digital meeting arena as well surrounding #VentureCup. We moderated the conversation and crreated content online for fans to follow through Twitter, Bambuser, YouTube and aided the guest bloggers.

With Matter, we produced a live talk show only minutes after the prize ceremony was over broadcasted via Bambuser. Guest in the program was winners Speximo, chairwoman of the jury Deborah Lygonis (Constant Innovation), Robert Odenjung (Västsvenska Handelskammaren), artist Emil Jensen, risk capitalist Susanna Falkengren, and Christina Jaremo who will be in the Regional Manager for Venture Cup West.

And the broadcasts reached our Enterprise Minister in Sweden, Annie Lööf on Twitter:

If you are looking for organizations to support to increase your social good account, here are two great examples of passionate involved foundations. They share the same name and do enormous amounts of social good for children.

In the US, the foundation Playing for change is dedicated to the fundamental idea that peace and change are possible through the universal language of music. They most effectively use videos posted on Vimeo and their blog to spread awareness. How can you not smile and want to get involved?

Help Connect the World Through Music from Doug Kenney on Vimeo.

playingforchange_sweIn Sweden, Playing for Change is a business incubator and network for social entrepreneurs that supports social entrepreneurs who improve the lives of children and youth. They actively use social media to spread awareness both on – YouTube, Facebook and through Twitter.

At Västsvenska Handelskammarens meeting on Wednesday, I had the privilege to be inspired by Samhall‘s CEO Monica Lindegård on how companies can utilize their various services to get the work done and at the same time do social good. Samhall looks to become “the leading company in Sweden for development through employment for people with disabilities”. Samhall’s aims to offer personal development for each of the 20 000 staff members as well as the best possible service to their clients.

I strongly believe that actively and honestly utilizing/ working with Corporate Social Responsibility/Social Good will give competitive advantage to one’s opponents, increased employee satisfaction and business values. What actions are your company taking?

I encourage you to interact with Samhall on their Facebook site and check out the TV program “Chefen Undercover” (Undercover Boss) on Swedish TV4 on Monday February 6.

Awoques adopts these two initiatives among 100 great ones:

20110901-043122.jpgFacebook is a social media channel, a giant window to communication with your friends, peers, customers and the unknown. This service is open 24 hrs. The majority of Awoque’s clients contact us to get help primarily with their current Facebook-page or to establish their own presence there. And could the page be ready tomorrow? (A quick fix.)

How often does that work? I had a great quote from a network collegue today in Göteborg. “My mom asks me how working with Facebook can be a job?” From the day I started my professional carrier working with online media in 1998, I have had to answer the same question. I have had to motivate my skills and the reasons any new invention is a paid service since there are ways to get it free by doing yourself or getting the help of family member. I wonder how many other business professionals in other fields feels the same way?

My answer to all is of course:
- It takes talent, skillful strategy and a little bit of luck to get it done professionally, to really stand the best of chances or at least increase the chances that the campaign, launch of service etc reaches the set business goals. On Facebook, you need to establish relationships and really listen before you act and start selling.

On Tuesday the Swedish newspaper Computer Sweden published an article on the subject with the name – build relationships on Facebook, stop direct sales on this topic.

What do you think?

One more member for CSR West Sweden

CSR west sweden logoI met with Katja Avenstam, Director of Sustainable Business Development at Chalmers for a Swedish “fika” last Thursday morning. We had many common issues to discuss. I wanted to find out more about the organisation she is a board member of, CSR West Sweden, and her reasons for being involved. “As a member of CSR West Sweden you increase your competitiveness,  the value of you employees and your brand. In our network, you can do business that improves your person, company and your community.” She also told she has four criteria that always must be met when getting involved:

  1. “Personally, I want to learn something”
  2. “I want to be a part of something bigger and be able to contribute”
  3. “I want to be involved with projects that opens doors for the future”
  4. “The projects must have sufficient finacing”

It is my priviledge to have her in my network and follow her work progress. She is a great role model. I proudly announce – one more member enrolled. How about you?
