From our course page:

We are passionate about social media or Web 2.0 but not everyone initially understands or knows how to use it – especially when it comes to business-related purposes. That is why we decided to introduce “Social Media 101″ courses with a twist.

We Listen To You!

In true web 2.0 style, we want to hear from you and let you guys set the courses most relevant to you, your organisation etc. We will then arrange courses around your preferences from the basics to more advanced “social media” programs.

Our first course is on Twitter on June 16. What do you want to know about Twitter and Web 2.0?

From the numerous seminars, presentations and lectures we have given on and around social media; we find that a lot of organisations are seeking the holy grail of social media – the fast track”Silver Bullet” to success.

The secret to successful social media is not difficult, but the work required to get there can be. This is an area that most companies have difficulties getting to grips with. This and the fact that social media costs.

Today, social media is inherently seen as the big four: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube, which take approximately 5 minutes to set-up and are free. If you were working with new media/website development at the beginning of web 1.0 in the mid 90′s this will sound familiar, “Websites are free and my cousin can design one – job done!

The “Silver Bullet”:
To get the most out of online, Web 2.0, activities, you must invest time and resources into understanding your organisation’s “why” to be able to develop a smart social strategy, to achieve set goals such as: engaging and listening to your fans, R&D, project collaboration, recruiting quality people, building your brand, driving sales, and serving your clients (through customer support).

Awoqued Social Organisations

Stop looking for the “Silver Bullet and let Awoque fast track your social media initiatives.

We proudly announce that we love the web. We love great people who run events with a passion badge silver sponsor webcoast Awoque 2011- planned from the heart to create one of the best events that most likely takes place this year in Göteborg. Webcoast is an unconference where everyone participating adds flavour to the program.

We look forward to interacting with a great set of minds that know the latest trends within social media, online communication, analytics, smart technology, strategy and so much more. If you got curious, I suggest you join us March 18-20 at Lindholmen. See you there :) .

Once we looked to our role models, which in today’s society are often (so called) celebrities; for fashion, activities and to hear their opinions on various matters.

But social media is changing this and there is a new, emerging generation of web personalities whose activities are having impact, on and offline. These people are attracting audiences in there millions, which is creating a reverse influential pull. As we are now seeing more and more celebrities (and brands) courting these social media influencers, to get in (or cash in) on their passion, popularity and audiences.

Victoria posted a great social influencer reference case with Keenan Cahill and 50cent. I remember a video from 2006 with Johann Lippowitz (real name David Armand) performing his mime version of Natalie Imbruglia’s – Torn (below).  But what made this for me, was when he performed together with Natalie on stage at a benefit concert.

Reverse influence also brings up the sticky question of authenticity, when social influencers start whoring themselves in return for merchandise, etc. But hey that’s’ a whole other post.

If you have any great examples of reverse influence, then please share it with us.
