I want to wish two of the greatest people I met the best of luck with their new adventures in life.

Thina Grotmarks started a new work position at Redcats to focus on her passion for Plus-Size fashion. She has brought a great big smile to the office every day. Together we have shared many laughters and tackled many reports for clients. High5 to you!

“It has been fun and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time developing and executing social networking opportunities for clients and partners at Awoque. The company is evolving and taking a direction that is best suited to and led by Victoria, who is at the heart of the company,” says Paul Williams.

Paul has been an amazing business partner, his insight and skills are second to none. We have enjoyed working together and we have had many high5 moments. I wish him all the best and look forward to connecting with him again through our many networks. Paul, will depart from Awoque on Monday November 21.

And once and Awoquian always and Awoquian. We stay in touch and keep inspiring each other :) . Stay tuned for job opportunities.

Just a quick note, we left yesterday morning from Göteborg to travel to New York to follow Thina Grotmark (the winner of Awoque’s “Rise & Shine” competition) to Full Figure Fashion Week. We have a busy schedule but we will try to post up on the Awoque blog when we can.

Paul Williams Awoque.jpgToday, we finalized the paper work for our company’s first year. Paul and I went to meet with KPMG to get the stack of papers signed and sent to the right authorities. We also added new members to our board. Soon we will tell you more.

To all of our fans out there, I want to say – THANK YOU. Without you there would be no year two, three…!

I had a tweet question on why we chose to call us Awoque. This is the short story:

Awoque = Ahlén + Williams evoke you (que). We know why and who you should talk to create the ripple effect online/in social media to build your brand, your fan base etc.
(We also needed a company name with the top domain names free ;) ! )

Solsken i Kungsbacka

Idag var en härlig lugn dag med fokus på planering samt ordning och reda. Jag promenerade i Kungsbacka med min kompanjon Paul Williams på Awoque och sorterade kommande utmaningar ;) . Planering tar tid, men åh vad det lönar sig i längden.

Väl hemma hämtade jag två sandiga barn på Pontos Förskola. Vi tog en cykeltur till Färgladan och fick kompletterat det vi skulle ha till våra hobbyprojekt här hemma. Min man var iväg på möte i Uddevalla så vi passade på att fixa vårarrangemang och tvätta utomhusmöblerna. Snart, snart är det ju påsk och då ska vi bara mysa utomhus ;) . Middag i kvällsolen avrundade dagen. Kan inte bli så mycket bättre ;) .

Friday again! This week, we wanted to share “The Force” an advert that Volkswagen has created and which has surpassed 35 million views on YouTube.

The advert empowers the young Darth Vader to use his imagination and will to create enthusiasm for the brand. We like this, as as it also reflects the boys passion to achieve mind/vehicle control. Kudo’s to VW and their agency for their viral achievement. Interestingly, is what VW will do to keep their engagement with an audience that they have found favor with.

We’ve all seen the Old Spice campaign, which was was very successful on many social levels i.e engagement, spin offs, etc. However, the challenge is to build and hold your audiences attention, this is done by generating a brand to fan base; of which amongst other brands Saab has been successful in achieving.

Webcoast successfully ended Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.

An unconference focusing on people’s passion for online activity and love for social networking that will leave behind happiness, a sense of belonging and smiles on most of the 200 participants.

My collegue Paul Williams said “I have experienced an atmosphere I have never felt before at a conference. It was a fantastic collection of peers in the same place for three days. I will continue learning and exploring all that was shared for weeks to come”.

Awoque applåderar Saab

saab fans facebook 20110316Saab Automobile anställer ett av sina största fans som bloggare. Steven Wade börjar i april skriver Dagens Industri igår.
- Gratulerar Saab, kul att ni gillade vår fan-idé. Och Wade, välkommen till nya jobbet, säger Victoria Ahlén och Paul Williams på Awoque.

I mitten på maj var Ahlén och Williams inbjudna som experter på sociala medier till Saab via HiQ. De presenterade sina idéer om att involvera biltillverkarens fans i återuppbyggnaden av företaget.

- Saab har fans som är extremt trogna. Under den turbulenta period som var innan affären med Spyker blev klar var fansens engagemang tydlig, inte minst inom sociala medier, säger Paul Williams.

Saab väljer nu att anställa ett av de mest namnkunniga fansen. Australiern Steven Wade har drivit bloggen Saabs United, som fått mycket uppmärksamhet för att vara välunderrättad. Från och med i början av april är han anställd av Saab.

- Vi gläder oss. Inte minst eftersom bilindustrin visar vilken betydelse sociala medier och fans har genom den här anställningen. Sociala medier beskylls ibland för att vara ett fenomen som bara angår unga och reklam- och mediebranschen. Inget kunde vara mer fel. Wades anställning på Saab är ett bevis för det, säger Victoria Ahlén.

At awoque we really enjoy working with companies that use “Social Media for Social Good”. In this weeks video blog I explore the difference between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Cause-Related Marketing (CRM), as there is some confusion about the distinctions. It seems that some companies in this era of “Being Green” and philanthropy are using CSR to jump on the bandwagon to promote themselves; for nothing more than simply following the rules.

It’s important that these two terms do not become interchanged and that CSR is not solely done with a marketing objective in mind and that companies pursuing CRM for social good; do it for the right reasons, are genuine and honest about it.
